Chris Hoy Appointed to Fill House District 21 Vacancy

SALEM, Ore. – Dec. 8, 2021 – Today, the Marion Board of Commissioners selected Chris Hoy to fill the current vacancy for State Representative in House District 21, left open by the resignation of former State Representative Brian Clem. Mr. Hoy was among four candidates nominated by the Democratic Party of Oregon to fill the position.

Four nominees were interviewed in a special board session this afternoon that also included nominees Nancy MacMorris-Adix, Kasia Quillinan, and Virginia Stapleton.

Commissioner Kevin Cameron, chair, said, “I have known and respected former Representative Clem for many years, most recently working extensively with him on fire recovery efforts in the Santiam Canyon. His shoes will not be easy to fill, though today’s appointee will have that great honor. I want to congratulate Chris Hoy on his appointment to House District 21, and the Marion County Board of Commissioners looks forward to working together with him for the good of our shared constituents.”
